Soccer team ready to leave for the Championship Match

Gainesville boys met up with a team that had size and speed tonight in the form of the Chattahoochee Cougars. Gainesville it seemed back on their heals for most of the first half. The Cougars took a 0-1 lead early in the first period. With 22 minutes in the first Gainesville was still behind 0-1. Gainesville started mounting a attack with about 12 minutes left in the half. Troyer from Chattahoochee was cautioned with 11:09 in the first and Gainesville seemed to gain some momentum off that but could not get a goal. The first half ended Gainesville 0 Chattahoochee 1.

The second half started with both teams fighting to get a goal. At 18:00 it was still 0-1 with pressure from both teams. Chattahoochee put another goal across at the 17 minute mark. That goal proved to be the game breaker for the Red Elephants. Never giving up Gainesville kept up the pressure but just could not get the ball across tonight. Gainesville comes up short 0-2 to Chattahoochee. Gainesville ends the season 19-3 and a Region 8 6A Championship and second in the State! Go Big Red!!!
