GHS golf teams earn top-5 finishes at state

The Gainesville girls and boys golf teams wrapped up their seasons this week in the Class AAAAAA state golf tournaments. The boys, playing at Woodmont Golf and Country Club in Canton, finished third (603) behind state champion Johns Creek (556) and state runner-up Creekview (582). Cindy Bonilla signs with Brenau

Gainesville High School senior Cindy Bonilla signed a National Letter of Intent Thursday to play soccer for Brenau University. A Division I NAIA school, the Golden Tigers are members of the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The soccer program, under coach Mike Lochstampfor, went 6-9-2 in 2019.
