Starting on the road for the last region 3 game series against Apalachee Gainesville would love a sweep. Collier Scott started on the mound for the Red Elephants and he pitched 6 inning, allowing only one run, two hits and eight strike outs to get the win. But that is not all Scott did for his team. Scott came to bat in the seventh inning with Gainesville leading 8-1 and bases loaded and two outs and he hits a grand slam. In the bottom of the seventh Apalachee got men on base with a walk, a hit batter and two singles to score 1 run but that was all they could muster. Gainesville won with the final score 12-2. Gainesville had 12 runs on 13 hits and 9 RBI’s. Collier Scott had 4 RBI’s, AJ Smallwood and Jared Smith both with 2 and Kyle York had 1. Gainesville will face Apalachee again Wednesday at Ivey-Watson at 5:55. Go Big Red!!!
